Parking

For access to the Music Building (Friday Check-in) and von der Mehden Recital Hall, we recommend parking in Storrs Center Parking Garage (free first 2 hours) or South Garage if arriving before 5 PM. After 5 PM, parking in S Lot is open to visitors. Because it is in a good location and free, we recommend parking in S Lot and walking to other locations for the majority of the conference.

*note: “S Lot” is often used to refer to both parking lots next to the Fine Arts Complex, including the lot labeled “Lot 1” on Google Maps below:

If you require closer access to McHugh Hall (Breakfast, Opening Remarks) and the Student Union (Lunch), we recommend parking at South or North Parking Garage. While lots such as the one at the Hugh S. Greer Field House and adjacent lots (see small red areas next to the Student Union on the map below) are great spots as well, they will likely be full on Saturday due to another large-scale event.

The following map (see PDF) is a display of the parking at UConn. For reference, the Music Building (Fine Arts Complex) is near the white and red striped parking lot in the bottom right corner. Official visitor parking information can be found HERE.

In general, parking hours are at the discretion of the signs posted in the areas, but there are some important distinctions about certain parking types:

  • After 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and any time on weekends, anyone may park in any on-campus space not designated as reserved, restricted, or limited. This should cover MOST of the conference.
  • University permit parking privileges are strictly enforced between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays unless otherwise posted.
  • The weekday options for visitors include parking at the North and South Garages and using PayByPhone spots in select locations.
